Tim Walz’s daughter Hope goes on foul-mouthed rant after Trump called her dad ‘retarded’: ‘You people are f–king disgraceful’

Tim Walz’s daughter, Hope, let her frustration run wild on TikTok after President Trump branded her dad “retarded,” calling the situation a “s–t storm” before she pulled the clip. In her out‑of‑control video, the 24‑year‑old blamed critics for targeting her younger brother Gus, saying the insults came after Trump blasted Walz over the Somali food‑aid fraud scandal.

“I’m talking about this because while my family and I are always gonna be the bigger people, the president calling my dad what he did has unleashed a f–king s–t storm regarding offensive language towards me and my family and specifically my brother,” Hope said. She slammed the Trump remark that “seriously retarded” the Minneapolis‑born governor.

“You can call me whatever you want, you can call my dad, my mom, when it’s Gus, f–k to the no. He dealt with people calling him that last August and now there’s a resurgence? No,” she added. She castigated the President’s language and the “cult members” who followed suit, saying it was disgraceful that a head of state could insult anyone—and then see that outrage turn into personal attacks on him and his family. “Say what you want about my dad, he’s an elected official, that’s gonna happen. I think it’s utterly disgraceful that the president would do that but then the attacks that I have seen. I have people DMing me saying absolutely horrendous things.”

Hope also recounted an incident where a driver drove by their home yelling, “we were R‑words,” a claim her father had made earlier that week. She expressed disbelief at the world’s current state, especially since Gus, who has a “non‑verbal learning disorder,” in addition to ADHD and anxiety—conditions he calls his “super power”—had already endured similar abuse in the past.

Gov. Walz had revealed last year that Gus’s disability is an asset, not a hindrance. The family’s concern grew when motorists started spewing hate around their house.

The social worker and former national‑stage figure, who stepped into the spotlight when Walz was Kamala Harris’ running mate, has remained a vocal supporter of her father since the 2024 campaign ended. In her Saturday evening post, she mentioned the $1 billion fraud that has rattled Minnesota and prompted Trump’s fiery Truth Social message, but she didn’t focus on the massive scam itself.

Trump had exploded that the fraud was being carried out by nonprofits, with some Somali contractors funneling taxpayer money to the terror group al‑Shabaab. The Feeding Our Future scandal siphoned over $1 billion from public coffers. “I think there’s something wrong with him. Absolutely,” Trump told reporters, reinforcing his belief that the governor was misguided for letting Somali immigrants influence his state and spending billions for Somalia—a place he insists “doesn’t function like a country.”
