Jaipur, Dec 8 (LatestNewsX) – Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, convened a high‑level review on Monday with heads of the Excise, Transport, Commercial Tax, and Registration & Stamps departments. He reiterated that revenue generation is the foundation of the state’s development agenda and its welfare programmes.
Sharma tasked the departments with formulating target‑driven action plans to hit the FY 2025‑26 revenue goal, which stands at ₹1,69,627 crore. Presently, ₹84,746 crore has been collected up to November, and the CM urged all teams to quicken their efforts in the coming months to reach the full target.
He emphasized that revenue is the “backbone of development” and affirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that public scheme benefits reach every slice of society. While reviewing the Commercial Tax Department’s performance, the CM noted that recent GST reforms announced by the Central Government have markedly eased the tax burden on citizens. He directed the department to pass these savings on to consumers, and called for a targeted crackdown on fraudsters, tighter monitoring, and greater transparency.
In a discussion with Transport officials, Sharma ordered that new permits for public‑transport buses be issued promptly to boost mobility and revenue. He warned that overloaded vehicles not only pose safety hazards but also lead to financial losses, and instructed strict enforcement against offenders.
The CM also instructed the Excise Department to step up surveillance along interstate borders to curb the smuggling and sale of illegal liquor, and stressed the need for close cooperation between Excise and Police units.
Finally, Sharma urged the Registration & Stamps Department to streamline property registration processes, making the service more transparent and user‑friendly. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and senior officials from each department attended the meeting.
