J&K L-G says administration committed to provide justice, jobs and dignity to families of terror victims

Srinagar, Dec 13 (LatestNewsX) – Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha told reporters on Saturday that the administration is steadfast in its pledge to offer employment, justice, and dignity to the families of those who have lost loved ones to terrorism.
At Lok Bhavan in Srinagar, he personally handed out appointment letters to relatives of terror victims. “We will continue to support these families in every possible way,” he said. He explained that the idea of giving government jobs to affected families began roughly a year and a quarter ago, when a group of Kashmiri families approached him with their heartbreaking stories. Moved by their experiences, he committed the government to identify authentic cases and secure job placements.
Today, 39 Kashmiri families received appointment letters, while 41 families in Jammu had already been granted them. Additionally, nine families impacted by the recent Nowgam blast were provided with job letters on Friday evening.
“Over 200 family members have secured government jobs this year,” Sinha noted. He recalled meeting several households that had lost their members to terrorism and had been forced to endure hardship in silence for years. One grieving father shared that his mother had to beg for a living after their home was destroyed, and many children grew up without parents without receiving help.
“We also plan to return properties seized from victims and their families during the terror years to their rightful owners,” he added. “No deserving family will be forgotten. Even cases where FIRs were never filed will be examined, and justice will be delivered.”
He lamented a time when innocents were killed while the terror ecosystem prospered, with victims silenced and sympathizers indulging in privileges. “It’s painful that terrorist funerals were once celebrated while real victims were ignored. We will not let that injustice persist. Anyone who continues to glorify terrorism will face stringent action,” he stressed.
The Lieutenant Governor said that over the past five years, several government employees with direct or indirect ties to terrorism have been dismissed. The process of purging institutions of the terror influence will move forward. “Every individual who spreads false narratives and assists terrorism will be identified and punished,” he affirmed.
Reemphasizing the government’s determination, Sinha declared that the aim is to make Jammu and Kashmir entirely free from terrorism and its surrounding ecosystem. “Anyone supporting terrorism in any form will face severe punishment. Protecting peace and preventing further family suffering is our collective responsibility,” he concluded.
