New Delhi – Bihar’s election fever is heating up.
On Friday, the official nomination window opens for the first phase of the state’s Assembly polls, a major milestone as the campaign rushes ahead.
Candidates will file papers for 121 seats in 18 districts, covering a broad swath of the state. The Election Commission will send out the first-phase notification on Friday, and polls for these constituencies are set for November 6.
The 18 districts slated to vote first include Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Munger, Khagaria, Saharsa, and Madhepura.
Political activity is surging now that nominations open. Rallies, strategy sessions, and candidate selections are in full swing, especially among the key alliances preparing for a nail‑biter election.
In a tight schedule, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal announced on Thursday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will reveal its seat‑sharing plan and candidate list in the next two to three days. “We’ve finalized the names for both BJP’s own seats and those we lost last time. The parliamentary committee will publish the list shortly,” he said, highlighting smooth talks with NDA partners.
Jaiswal added that senior BJP leaders have completed an in‑depth review to lock in candidates, and that the alliance has squared most of the nitty‑gritty before the polls.
With the nomination process kicking off and alliances moving on to declare their nominees, Bihar’s political arena is primed for an intense election season.
