Arjun Rampal on 100 years of RSS: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh symbolizes patriotism and selfless service

Bollywood star Arjun Rampal reached out to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with a heartfelt message on its 100th anniversary. He posted a video on Instagram Thursday, praising the group for its deep roots in patriotism and community service.
In the clip, Rampal highlighted how the RSS, founded on Vijaya Dashami in 1925, has grown into the world’s largest volunteer organization. “It inspires us all, with millions of dedicated members serving Mother India selflessly,” he said. He extended warm wishes to RSS members, adding, “On this centenary year, happy anniversary to all you brothers. We’re with you, and together we’ll build a better future for our nation. Bharat Mata ki Jai! Jai Hind!”
The RSS started in Nagpur under Keshav Baliram Hedgewar as a Hindu nationalist volunteer group. It runs like a structured cadre with daily shakhas—local meetings for physical drills, training, and idea-sharing. The organization gained huge influence after India’s independence and plays a key role in shaping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through its political arm, the Jana Sangh. Today, it leads the Sangh Parivar network, which includes student groups, labor unions, and cultural outfits. The RSS boasts millions of members in India and overseas during the 2020s.
Rampal, known for his immersive acting style, recently opened up about the roles that excite him. He loves diving into authentic characters with strong backstories. “Scripts need to feel real and honest, with a solid belief system for the character—that’s what hooks me,” he shared. The actor also dreams of tackling fresh territories on screen. “I’m drawn to period films, historical epics, dystopian worlds, or even mythological tales. Anything that transports you to a whole new era,” he said. His film choices show his drive to evolve and break from old patterns, keeping fans hooked on his versatile performances.
