Anti-white attacker pummeled stranger who glanced at her in unprovoked NYC subway assault: cops, sources
A shocking hate crime unfolded on a Manhattan subway over the weekend, leaving a passenger battered for just glancing at the attacker. Police say 20-year-old Genesis Gittens, who celebrated her birthday on Monday, lost her cool on a southbound L train at the 1st Avenue and East 14th Street station around 2:10 a.m. Sunday.
The trouble started when a 28-year-old man, sitting nearby, turned to look at her as she yelled. Gittens snapped, punching him multiple times in the face while hurling racist slurs like “White boy” and “cracker,” according to the criminal complaint. The victim ended up with a bloody nose but turned down medical help.
Cops arrested Gittens less than an hour later. She faces charges of third-degree assault as a hate crime. During her arraignment, she pleaded not guilty and walked free, court records show.

In a separate subway violence incident that same day, an apparently homeless man ambushed a 35-year-old on-duty MTA cleaner from behind at the 34th Street-Hudson Yards No. 7 train station around 9 a.m. Sunday. The attacker, who wasn’t wearing shoes and dressed in all gray with a blue blanket, punched the worker repeatedly in the back of the head.
As the cleaner hit the ground, the assailant kicked him several times. The victim refused medical attention, but the suspect fled and remains at large as of Monday, sources told police.
These back-to-back Manhattan subway attacks highlight growing concerns over public safety on New York City’s transit system. Authorities urge riders to stay vigilant and report suspicious behavior.
