Lindsay Shiver, the former Georgia beauty queen, says she’s ready to take the ankle tag off her leg so she can jump back into modeling. The tag has been tracking her for more than two years because she’s awaiting a trial in the Bahamas over a July 2023 charge that she ordered a hit on her estranged husband, former Atlanta Falcons long‑snapper Robert Shiver.
She’s filed a petition with a Nassau judge to have the GPS tracker removed, arguing that the device leaves painful bruises and sores, wrecks her sleep, and traumatizes her children. Shiver also wants to return to Thomasville, Georgia, the town where she and her husband once owned a $3 million mansion before their 2023 split.
According to the petition, Shiver has received several modeling and influencer job offers but can’t take them while the ankle tag is attached. Previously a judge allowed her to leave the island, and she’s now staying with her parents on a remote ranch in Abbeville, Alabama. Moving back to Thomasville would let her spend more time with her kids, and a modeling gig would help cover her legal bills, the petition claims.
Inside public places she has to conceal the tag to avoid embarrassing her three sons, and she can’t go to the beach because the device isn’t water‑proof. Her request will be heard by the Nassau Supreme Court on December 8; Shiver is expected to appear in person, while her ex‑husband will likely join via video link.
The trial, set for March 2026, charges Shiver with conspiring with her boyfriend, 30‑year‑old barman Adrien Bethel, and Bethel’s childhood friend, 31‑year‑old Faron Newbold Jr., to have her husband killed. Shiver allegedly sent Newbold pictures of Robert in a bar along with the WhatsApp message “Kill him.” If convicted, she faces a sentence of up to 60 years in prison.
