In Bengaluru, DLabs from the Indian School of Business (ISB) teamed up with the HCL Foundation to kick off the DiscoverShe program. They started with a lively two-day bootcamp, aiming to boost 400 women micro-entrepreneurs across urban and peri-urban areas in India. The focus? Helping them go digital through MSME digitisation and hands-on capacity-building.
These women, running everything from artisan crafts and agriculture businesses to modern micro-enterprises, services, and home-based ventures, get practical training right from the start. Bootcamps cover creating digital storefronts, diving into e-commerce, building financial and digital literacy, connecting to microfinance, sharpening skills, and getting mentorship. Plus, there’s help preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) and three months of follow-up support after funding.
Saumya Kumar, CEO of DLabs and Director of ISB’s I-Venture, shared her excitement: “We at DLabs see micro-entrepreneurs as key players in filling industry gaps and sparking socio-economic change. Teaming with HCL Foundation lets us empower these women to create real impact. We’re all in on giving top-notch resources to those ready to innovate.”
Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President for Global CSR at HCL Foundation, added: “This partnership with ISB DLabs goes beyond skills—it’s about guiding 400 women micro-entrepreneurs through incubation, market access, finance, and ongoing mentorship. DiscoverShe unlocks their potential, builds resilience, and helps women-led businesses grow strong in today’s fast-changing MSME world.”
The full DiscoverShe rollout includes 10 bootcamps, DPR guidance, a big finale event, and incubation spots at DLabs. Key cities on the list are Bengaluru, Madurai, Hyderabad, and Mohali, all geared toward sustainable growth for women-led micro-enterprises.
