Milind Soman congratulates wife Ankita on becoming the first Assamese woman to complete Ironman

Mumbai, Oct 7 – Bollywood star and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman took to Instagram to celebrate a historic win for his wife, Assamese athlete Ankita Konwar.
Ankita became the first woman from Assam to finish a full Ironman triathlon, a grueling test that includes a 3.86 km swim, 180 km bike ride and a 42.2 km marathon run. The duo completed the event in Barcelona, Spain, after training in Estonia.
Soman posted photos and short videos from the competition, writing, “Ankita, you are an IRONMAN! I’m so proud of you, my love.” He added that the 70.3 Ironman in Estonia was a perfect warm‑up and that the full Ironman in Barcelona was “fun fun fun” with friends “@arjunkawle” and “@dhirenbontra.” He also highlighted Ankita’s trail‑blazing achievement, calling it “wow!!”
The actor shared his own milestone, noting that it was his second Ironman, a decade after the first. “60 is the new 50,” he said, and thanked the Ironman teams in Spain and the organizers for the unforgettable challenge.
Earlier, Soman posted a photo of the couple’s half‑Ironman effort in Tallinn, Estonia. “We did it!” he wrote. “Ankita finished in 7 hours 5 minutes, and I beat the cutoff by five seconds.” The message was echoed on social media by Ankita, who uploaded a clip of Milind doing push‑ups on a train and captioned, “10⁶ reasons I love you: the world is literally your playground.”
Milind and Ankita married in a private ceremony in Alibaug in April 2018. Their joint victory in Barcelona marks a proud moment for both, and for the Assamese community, who can now see a role model conquering one of the world’s toughest endurance events.
