Patna, Dec 5 (LatestNewsX) – The son of Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, Nishant Kumar, is set to step into the state’s political scene, according to Sanjay Kumar Jha, the JD‑U’s national working president and a close confidante of the CM.
During a media interaction at Patna Airport, Jha made a remark that has added fuel to the speculation about Nishant’s entry into politics.
For a long time, members of the JD‑U and the broader NDA alliance had been pushing for Nishant to join the fray. Many thought he might contest a seat in Nalanda during the recent assembly elections, yet the coalition secured a comfortable majority without fielding him.
Despite the absence of his candidature, discussions over Nishant’s potential political debut kept circulating within party circles. JD‑U leaders have repeatedly expressed openness to granting him significant responsibilities, but the final call remains with his father, the chief minister.
On Friday, however, a pivotal moment unfolded at Patna Airport. While Nishant was talking with the press, Sanjay Kumar Jha stood beside him and went out publicly to support the move.
“Party members, well‑wishers, and supporters all want Nishant Kumar to join the party and work. We all want the same, but now it is up to him to decide when he will join,” Jha said.
Earlier, Nishant had praised the NDA–JD‑U’s decisive victory, calling it a blessing from the people of Bihar. He noted that the public had once again placed their trust in his father and the coalition, and he reaffirmed confidence in Nitish’s leadership, saying, “My father fulfilled his earlier promises, and this time too he will definitely fulfil the promise of creating one crore jobs and employment opportunities.”
With Jha’s latest remarks, observers believe that Nishant Kumar’s jump into active politics is now only a matter of timing.
