A tragic road accident in Rajasthan’s Alwar district claimed the lives of four family members, including a five-year-old boy, when a speeding dumper smashed into their bike on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near Jhiri Stand on Dausa Road in Pratapgarh, part of the Thanagazi area. Babulal, 40, his nephew Monu, 5, Ashok, 22, and Narsi, 25—all from Mejod village—rode the bike together when the dumper struck them. Three died instantly from the impact, and Narsi passed away on the way to a hospital in Jaipur.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as heartbreaking. The dumper driver tried to speed away after the collision, but furious locals gave chase. They caught up near Piplai Station, deflated the vehicle’s tires, and stopped it. An angry crowd then beat the driver before police arrived and took him into custody.
The incident sparked outrage over frequent road accidents in the area caused by reckless heavy vehicles. Dozens of villagers blocked State Highways 52 and 77 at the busy Alwar-Jaipur intersection in Pratapgarh. Their protest created massive traffic jams, stranding cars and trucks for hours.
Locals blamed the administration for ignoring the dangers of overloaded dumpers and speeding trucks on these routes. “This road has turned deadly because of these vehicles,” one protester said. They demanded an immediate ban on such heavy traffic and stricter enforcement to prevent more Rajasthan road accidents like this Alwar crash.
Police rushed to the scene to calm the tense situation, but residents refused to back down until officials promise real action against dangerous driving and better road safety measures.
