Horrifying video shows antisemitic protester mob storm LA Synagogue, spew hateful threats at Jewish bystanders
Antisemitic demonstrators filled the air with venomous slogans and violent threats outside the historic Mid‑Wilshire synagogue in Los Angeles. A dramatic clip that circulated on X showed the rowdy crowd chanting “Free Palestine” as they gathered outside the Wilshire Boulevard Temple on Wednesday.
Most of the protesters wore masks or kept their faces hidden while they hurled profanity. As people tried to pass through peacefully, some of the agitators crossed the synagogue’s entrance and reportedly caused property damage inside.
One of those involved was 24‑year‑old Ray Wue Corpus, who was later arrested on a vandalism charge. Corporate records indicate he resides in a multimillion‑dollar home in Irvine, California.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles slammed the protest, calling it “hate disguised as dissent,” a statement echoed by the Westside Current.
In a tweet posted on December 3, Sam Yebri described the scene, calling it a “near pogrom” and noting that the city’s mayor had taken no action to protect places of worship. “Another near pogrom in LA as Jews trying to enter Wilshire Blvd Temple (a Jewish synagogue/school) were attacked & intimidated by violent pro‑Hamas extremists demanding “Zionists” out of LA. Despite her promises, Mayor Bass has done nothing to protect houses of worship from hate.” He added a photo from the event.
Mayor Bass quickly condemned the violence, deployed additional officers to the area, and met with Rabbi Joel Nickerson at the temple to discuss the incident.
The turmoil wasn’t limited to Los Angeles. New York City’s Park East synagogue recently faced a separate confrontation when about 200 demonstrators shouted “Globalize the intifada” and “Death to the IDF!” as they staged a protest against an event hosted by a group assisting Jews in immigrating to Israel. A Holocaust survivor present at the event praised the police for keeping the attendees safe.
