J&K: Police seize motorcycle bought with drug money in Reasi

Jammu, Nov 17 – Police in the Reasi district of Jammu & Kashmir said they have seized a motorcycle that was bought with drug‑money. The move is part of a larger crackdown on drug smuggling and the assets that traffickers build with the proceeds.

According to a police statement, the motorcycle—registration number JK02CP‑5240—was owned by Mohd Razak, a known drug trafficker from Treen in the Katra area. The vehicle was seized under Section 68‑F of the NDPS Act, 1985, after investigators found that it was purchased from the proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.

“We’re not just arresting people, we’re also taking away the money and property they earn from drugs,” a Reasi police official said. The attachment marks a major step in the district’s ongoing efforts to dismantle the narcotics network and reduce the financial incentives for traffickers.

The operation was carried out by the Katra police station under the close supervision of the senior officers in the area. Local residents praised the decisive action, saying it shows a strong stance against drug crime and helps protect young people from the danger of drug trafficking.

“Reasi police remains committed to continuing this relentless fight,” SS‑SP Paramvir Singh said. The district police are determined to keep the community safe, cut off drug money, and put pressure on those who supply harmful substances.
