Tvesa Malik aims for redemption at Swiss Ladies Open

Indian golfer Tvesa Malik is making a strong comeback at the Swiss Ladies Open in Zug, Switzerland. After a heartbreaking loss in last year’s tournament, she’s fired up to grab her first Ladies European Tour (LET) title right here at Golfpark Holzhausern.

Remember that dramatic finish in 2024? Tvesa tied with England’s Alice Hewson at 11-under-par after three rounds, but Hewson snatched the win with a birdie in the playoff. Now, Tvesa returns to the same course, hungry for redemption and that elusive LET victory.

India’s showing up in force this time, with a powerhouse lineup of six players: Tvesa Malik, Vani Kapoor, Hitaashee Bakshi, Ridhima Dilawari, Pranavi Urs, and Sneha Singh. It’s one of the strongest Indian contingents at the Swiss Ladies Open, boosting excitement for fans of Indian golf.

Tvesa kicks off her rounds teamed with Australia’s Kelsey Bennett and New Zealand’s Momoko Kobori. Vani Kapoor joins Germany’s Celina Sattelkau and Finland’s Emily Penttila. Hitaashee Bakshi pairs up with France’s Camille Chevalier and England’s Meghan MacLaren. Pranavi Urs tees off alongside Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt and Spain’s Marta Martin. Sneha Singh plays with Clara Moyano Reigosa and Swiss amateur Selina Casal.

Ridhima Dilawari earned a special invite and will compete with Korea’s Do Yeon Park and local Swiss amateur Carlotta Locatelli. This wildcard spot adds even more thrill to the LET event.

Defending champ Alice Hewson looks sharp after recent strong showings. She starts at 1:17 PM local time with Germany’s Laura Fuenfstueck and Switzerland’s Kim Metraux.

Eyes will also be on Swiss star Chiara Tamburlini, who’s riding high after a tied eighth at the Aramco Houston Championship with a sizzling final-round 67. Fresh off three LET wins in 2024, Tamburlini plays at home with fellow Swiss Caroline Sturdza and Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz, the Houston victor.

With top international talent and players in peak form, the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open sets the stage for edge-of-your-seat golf action. For Tvesa Malik and the Indian golfers, it’s a golden chance to shine on the LET tour and make 2024’s near-miss a thing of the past.
