Rotated Bayern dismantle Leverkusen, extend perfect run in Bundesliga

Bayern Munich rolled past Bayer Leverkusen 3‑0 in the Bundesliga, ending the visitors’ 37‑match unbeaten away run and boosting the champions’ 15‑game winning streak. The win comes on the eve of a Champions League clash with Paris Saint‑Germain.
Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, changed most of the squad after a cup win. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer returned, while youngsters Tom Bischof and Lennart Karl made their starts. Stars Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz began on the bench, but all three were brought on later to save energy for next week’s European tie.
From the kick‑off Bayern dominated. Bischof supplied a through pass to Serge Gnabry, who sliced past Bayer goalkeeper Mark Flekken for the opener after 25 minutes. Six minutes later, Nicolas Jackson headed in a cross from Konrad Laimer to double the lead. Just before halftime, Raphaël Guerreiro’s low delivery turned on Loïc Bade and resulted in a rare own goal, sealing the 3‑0 advantage.
The second half saw little drama. Jackson’s header was almost a goal early on, and Kompany swapped in Kane, Olise and Diaz to preserve fitness. Leverkusen struggled to create any clear chances and could not find a way back into the game.
With the win, Bayern extend their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga and secure the top spot. Leverkusen suffers its first league defeat since the opener and their first loss on the road in almost two years.
“We respected Bayern’s quality. They punished our mistakes and deserved the win,” said Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand. “We’re disappointed but will move forward.”
Bayern now turns its focus to Tuesday’s Champions League match against PSG. Leverkusen will try to bounce back against Benfica on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig added a third place with a 3‑1 win over Stuttgart. Heidenheim drew 1‑1 with Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach beat St. Pauli 4‑0, Mainz drew 1‑1 with Bremen, while Union Berlin and Freiburg finished 0‑0.
