Patna, Oct 6 – The Election Commission of India has just confirmed the schedule for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The announcement was met with cheers from leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), who say the alliance is ready to win the vote‑count again with a clear majority.
JD‑U Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha welcomed the two‑phase plan. “This election decides who will lead Bihar for the next five years and shapes the state’s future for the next 25,” he said. Jha outlined the party’s key promises: create industry in every district, give more than 20 million mothers and sisters the chance to start their own businesses, and give jobs to more than 10 million young voters. The party also pledged to keep 125 free‑electricity units running for nearly 20 million consumers.
He added that Bihar is already building expressways and highways worth 1.84 lakh crore rupees, promising that by the end of the term any resident can reach Patna from any corner of the state in about three and a half hours.
Speaking from road‑side rallies, Jha noted that people throughout the state favour the NDA’s “double‑engine” government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He is confident that Bihar could join India’s top ten most developed states in five years.
NDA ally Santosh Kumar, National President of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), also greeted the schedule and predicted a landslide win for the alliance. “The NDA will fight with full strength and, once again, Bihar voters will hand us a decisive victory,” he said. Kumar highlighted the coalition’s record under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, saying the state has made huge strides in roads, electricity, education, health and employment. He warned that the opposition’s promises are false and expected the Grand Alliance to be wiped out, with the NDA winning at least 200 seats.
Voting will take place in two phases—November 6 and November 11—with results counted on November 14. The country’s eyes will turn to Bihar as the NDA campaigns to keep the momentum of development and stability going.
