New Delhi – The government has launched the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 to help 20 million pensioners across more than 2,000 cities and towns get their life certificates quickly and easily. The programme uses Aadhaar‑based face‑authentication so seniors can submit proof of identity without needing a biometric scanner.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh will head to the SBI Mega Camp on Monday at the NDMC Convention Centre. He plans to meet pensioners who are already using the DLC system and to watch live demos from partners such as State Bank of India, India Post Payments Bank (DoP), UIDAI and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The DLC is part of India’s Digital India and Ease of Living missions, aimed at giving senior citizens a simple, digital way to receive their pensions. Key features include:
- Face authentication – Seniors scan a photo of their face to validate their identity.
- Doorstep service – DoP delivers DLCs to super‑senior and differently‑abled pensioners at home.
- Real‑time monitoring – NIC’s DLC portal tracks certificate generation by all agencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised initiatives like the DLC for cutting red tape and speeding up pension disbursal. The campaign brings together banks, India Post, UIDAI, MeitY, NIC, CGDA, Railways and pensioner welfare groups to push digital inclusion for veterans.
Dr Singh said the new campaign streamlines the process and removes outdated rules that had slowed payments. The government remains committed to making life easier for pensioners through tech‑driven reforms like the Digital Life Certificate Campaign.
