Flipkart is leading the charge in India’s booming tech scene, especially as the festive season heats up. The homegrown e-commerce giant’s latest data from June to August 2025 shows a massive surge in demand for everything from AI-powered laptops to electric scooters. Compared to March to May, sales have jumped across cities and age groups, proving that Indians aren’t just buying gadgets—they’re making them part of their daily lives, from work and play to sustainable living.
Take computing devices: Laptops and desktops saw a whopping 1.4 times growth in big metros like Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities aren’t far behind, fueled by students, freelancers, and creators diving into hybrid learning and online projects. For the 16-25 crowd, usage of these devices shot up 1.3 times, highlighting how young Indians are driving the digital revolution.
It’s not just computers stealing the show. Gaming consoles are booming too, with a 1.15 times increase, thanks to fun discovery tools on Flipkart that let users try before they buy. Gen Z and Gen Alpha love how these devices help them game, learn, and express themselves. Even digital cameras and storage gadgets are picking up steam, especially in smaller towns where content creators are on the rise.
Mobility is getting an electric twist as well. Two-wheelers, particularly scooters, jumped 1.7 times, while electric vehicles grew 1.2 times in the same period. This reflects India’s push towards eco-friendly rides amid rising fuel costs and green aspirations.
The excitement isn’t limited to cities. North India led with 1.22 times higher demand for electronics, followed by South India at 1.17 times. While Tier 1 cities drive premium tech like AI-enabled wearables and smart home devices, Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas are powering growth in affordable creator tools. Flipkart’s push to offer premium products at value prices is making advanced tech accessible everywhere.
Sujith Agashe, Vice President of Electronics at Flipkart, shares the buzz: “India’s electronics market is exploding beyond urban areas. From small-town students to big-city creators and metro families, everyone wants devices that fit their lifestyle. Tech advances like AI and personalization are key, and we’re teaming up with brands to deliver sustainable, high-performance options for all.”
He adds, “It’s about more than access—it’s aspiration and real value. Flipkart is all in on making immersive shopping easy with video help and AI chatbots, so customers pick what truly works for them.”
