Actor Adarsh Gourav says he’s gotten better at handling rejection as he’s grown older. The Mumbai‑based star talks openly about the ups and downs of a life in film, sharing his first major setback on the popular singing show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
Back when he was a child, the teen’s attempt to audition for the show was turned down because he was too young. The TV crew filmed his tears, and the clip quickly went viral. “People turned my sadness into a celebration,” the actor remembered, chuckling about how his family and neighbors watched him sob in a red T‑shirt.
Since then, acting has kept the rejection coming. “Every audition feels like a judgment,” he explains. “Instead of breaking me, it sharpened my resolve. I learned that every ‘no’ is a step toward finding my own truth.”
Gourav admits he recently lost a big role over something minor—a mistake that left him upset for days. Yet he’s come away from the experience with confidence that the tide will turn. “I’ve learned that every rejection is temporary,” he says. “Eventually, more doors will open.”
The actor’s candid reflections resonate with anyone who’s faced failure in pursuing a dream. By sharing his story, Adarsh hopes to encourage others to embrace rejection as part of the journey toward success.
