On December 9 in New Delhi, LatestNewsX announced that ART Grand Prix has secured the services of India’s Kush Maini for its 2026 Formula 2 campaign. Maini, who has already taken two race victories and finished on the podium seven times, is slated to return for a fourth season in the series. Prior to stepping into Formula 2, he finished runner‑up in the 2020 BRDC British F3 Championship and placed 14th in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 season, earning a single podium. The Indian driver expressed excitement about joining ART, saying: “I’m very happy to be joining such an historic team like ART Grand Prix. My first contacts with the engineers and mechanics have been very positive. I appreciate the determination and the human atmosphere within the team, and I can’t wait to start working with them and see what we can achieve together.” ART’s Team Principal Sébastien Philippe added, “Kush has shown real speed and maturity in Formula 2, and his win in Monaco is a clear example of his potential. We are happy to welcome him to ART Grand Prix and look forward to working together in 2026.” Earlier this month, Alpine Formula One revealed that Maini would join the A525 squad after a successful Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi. He will partner current Alpine driver Pierre Gasly on the track and will race alongside several other F1 competitors, drawing on the experience he’s gained through Alpine’s Testing Previous Cars (TPC) programme and extensive simulator work with the Alpine Academy. Maini’s historic triumph at Monaco made him the first Indian driver to win on the iconic street circuit. This year he was also named a BWT Alpine Test & Reserve Driver, becoming the first Indian in 13 years to hold an official position with a Formula 1 team. His appearance on December 9 will mark only the third time an Indian has taken part in an official F1 session.
