Bihar: Prashant Kishor levels corruption allegations against four NDA leaders

Prashant Kishor Fires Fresh Allegations of Corruption Against Bihar NDA Leaders

Patna, Sep 19: Political strategist turned Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor didn’t hold back on Friday. He launched a blistering attack on Bihar’s NDA leadership, pointing fingers at four big names for alleged corruption, fraud, and shady dealings. Speaking at a packed press conference in Patna, Kishor shared what he called solid evidence of financial irregularities and hidden truths, urging the public to demand answers.

Kishor started with Health Minister Mangal Pandey. He revealed that between 2019 and 2020, a whopping Rs 2.12 crore landed in the Punjab National Bank account of Pandey’s wife, Urmila Pandey. "Pandey claims he borrowed just Rs 25 lakh from his father to buy a flat in Delhi," Kishor said. "So, where did this huge sum come from? If it’s clean money, why hide the source?" He warned that if Pandey doesn’t explain soon, he’ll expose the transfer details from other accounts. This Bihar corruption scandal has already sparked buzz on social media.

Next up, Kishor targeted Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, accusing him of a tangled web of name changes and fake documents. "He started as Samrat Kumar Maurya, then became Rakesh Kumar, and later Rakesh Kumar alias Samrat Kumar Choudhary," Kishor claimed. He even linked Choudhary to the 1998 bombing of Congress leader Sadanand Singh, saying Choudhary dodged major charges by faking an age certificate to pose as a minor.

Kishor didn’t stop there. He highlighted wild inconsistencies in Choudhary’s education records. "Court papers show he failed matriculation as Samrat Kumar Maurya. But in 2010, he said he only passed Class 7. How does someone like that suddenly claim a degree and even a D.Litt.?" Kishor slammed the BJP for criticizing the RJD’s ‘jungle raj’ while propping up leaders with such baggage. "A man who’s been in jail for murder, faked papers, and lied about his studies is now Bihar’s Deputy CM. That’s the real BJP face in Bihar," he added.

Turning to JD-U’s Rural Development Minister Ashok Chaudhary, whom Kishor dubbed "Nitish Kumar’s right-hand man and Bihar’s most corrupt leader," the accusations got even juicier. In 2019, Choudhary allegedly bought 23 katthas of prime land in Patna’s Bikram area through his personal secretary, Yogendra Dutt. The land later shifted to Choudhary’s daughter, Shambhavi, for Rs 34 lakh—but only Rs 10 lakh was paid upfront. After an Income Tax notice, another Rs 25 lakh moved in April 2025 to plug the gap.

Kishor also flagged a flurry of land deals worth nearly Rs 38.44 crore, snapped up between Shambhavi’s engagement and wedding via the Manav Vaibhav Vikas Trust. This trust ties back to the family of late bureaucrat Kishore Kunal. "Money flowed from the trust to Choudhary’s wife’s account," Kishor questioned. "If Ashok has nothing to do with it, why the transfers? We need straight answers from trust links like Anita Kunal, ex-IAS Jiyalal Arya, and Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit’s mother." These Bihar land scam claims are sure to fuel debates on political accountability.

Finally, Kishor went after BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, alleging he stalled a Bettiah flyover project for 10 years to shield his family’s petrol pump. "He even got Rs 5 crore in inflated bills for municipal sanitation vehicles fueled there," Kishor charged. Bettiah Mayor Garima Devi Simaria reportedly wrote to the Municipal Commissioner in August 2024, pushing to relocate the pump and stop payments over fraud. "Jaiswal’s father, Madan, was a good man. But Sanjay looted public funds, blocked development, and now threatens to jail me. I challenge him: you couldn’t catch me in seven lifetimes," Kishor fired back.

Joining Kishor at the event were Jan Suraaj heavyweights like Vice President Y.V. Giri, State President Manoj Bharti, General Secretary Kishore Kumar, MLC Afaq Ahmed, and leaders Rambali Chandravanshi and Sudhir Sharma. They all called for fair probes into these Bihar NDA corruption allegations.

Kishor wrapped up by saying these exposures prove NDA leaders are "drowning in corruption" despite their high-and-mighty talk. As Bihar gears up for elections, these claims could shake up the political scene big time. Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding Bihar politics drama.
