India A Squad Announced for Exciting Three-Match ODI Series Against Australia A
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the India A squad for an upcoming three-match one-day series against Australia A, set to thrill fans in Kanpur. Rajat Patidar takes the captain’s role for the first ODI, while Tilak Varma steps in to lead the team for the next two games. This series promises some intense cricket action as young talents gear up for bigger stages.
All three ODIs will unfold at the iconic Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, starting at 1:30 PM IST. Mark your calendars: the first match hits the field on September 30, 2025, followed by the second on October 3, and the third on October 5. It’s a great chance to spot rising stars from the Indian Premier League (IPL) making their mark in domestic cricket.
Abhishek Sharma, who kicked off India’s T20I campaign with flair, joins the squad for the opener. IPL standouts Priyansh Arya and Vipraj Nigam also earn spots—Arya smashed 475 runs in 17 matches for Punjab Kings (PBKS), while Nigam grabbed 142 runs and 11 wickets in eight innings for Delhi Capitals (DC). Their strong IPL 2025 performances have clearly caught the selectors’ eye.
Behind the stumps, Prabhsimran Singh shines as a key wicketkeeper pick. He had a breakout IPL season with PBKS, scoring 549 runs in 17 matches, including four fifties. Abishek Porel from DC backs him up, adding depth to the keeping options.
The middle order looks packed with promise, featuring dynamic players like Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, and Suryansh Shedge. All-rounder Nishant Sindhu brings versatility to the mix. On the bowling front, expect firepower from Gurjapneet Singh, Yudhvir Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Simarjeet Singh, and Harshit Rana (for the second and third matches). Plus, India’s top T20I wicket-taker, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, joins for the final two ODIs to bolster the attack.
