The action kicked off in the morning session as Australia ‘A’ picked up from their strong position on Day 1. Openers Liam Scott and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe built a solid 81-run stand for the sixth wicket. Gurnoor Brar broke through by dismissing Scott, but Philippe turned it up a notch. The Aussie keeper smashed an unbeaten 123 off just 87 balls, including 18 fours and four sixes—his second century of the innings after Sam Konstas’ 109 on the opening day. Xavier Bartlett chipped in with a quick 39 not out off 24 balls before the declaration came in the first session.

This powerhouse performance gave Australia ‘A’ a commanding lead in the India ‘A’ vs Australia ‘A’ Test series. Earlier on Day 1, the visitors had reached 337/5, thanks to Konstas’ ton and half-centuries from Campbell Kellaway (88) and Cooper Connolly (70). India ‘A”s Harsh Dubey shone with the ball, claiming 3-141 in 27 overs, while Gurnoor Brar picked up 2-87.

Switching to India ‘A”s reply, openers N. Jagadeesan and Abhimanyu Easwaran got off to a steady start. Easwaran looked sharp, scoring 44 off 58 balls, but Scott struck early in the 22nd over to send him back. Jagadeesan then steadied the ship with a brisk 50 not out, helping India ‘A’ reach 116/1 by the end of the second session. Sai Sudharsan joined him at the crease, but heavy rain after tea meant stumps were called early—no play after the break.

Day 3 promises more excitement as Jagadeesan and Sudharsan resume India ‘A”s innings, chasing down that huge deficit in this four-day unofficial Test. Fans are buzzing about the young talents on show in this India ‘A’ vs Australia ‘A’ clash.

Brief Scores:
Australia ‘A’ 532/6 decl. in 98 overs (Josh Philippe 123, Sam Konstas 109, Campbell Kellaway 88, Cooper Connolly 70; Harsh Dubey 3-141, Gurnoor Brar 2-87) lead India ‘A’ 116/1 in 30 overs (N. Jagadeesan 50, Abhimanyu Easwaran 44; Liam Scott 1-9) by 416 runs.
