Kuldeep Yadav wowed cricket fans in Delhi on October 12, 2023, when he took a stunning five‑wicket haul against the West Indies in the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The left‑arm wrist‑spinner made 5‑82 in India’s 81.5‑over first innings, helping the hosts dismiss the West Indies for 248. Yadav’s performance made him the fastest left‑arm wrist bowler to record five five‑wicket hauls in Test cricket, reaching the milestone in just 15 matches. He now matches former England spinner Johnny Wardle, who achieved the same in 28 Tests.

Across his 15‑match Test career, Yadav has taken 65 wickets at an average of 21.09, with an economy rate of 3.55. In the ongoing series, he is the second‑highest wicket‑taker, having claimed nine wickets at a 20.33 average.
