Oman Captain Praises Bowlers After Heavy Loss to Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
In a tough match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Oman faced a crushing 93-run defeat against Pakistan on Friday. But captain Jatinder Singh didn’t hold back his praise for his team’s bowling effort, which kept the Men in Green to just 160 runs.
Jatinder highlighted how Oman’s bowlers stuck to their plans perfectly. Shah Faisal and Aamir Kaleem shone with the ball, helping restrict Pakistan to 160 for seven wickets in their 20 overs. Mohammad Haris top-scored for Pakistan with 66, while Sahibzada Farhan added 29. Aamir Kaleem picked up three wickets for 31 runs, making it a solid show from Oman despite the loss.
"We restricted them to under 160, and I’m really proud of the boys for how we bowled," Jatinder said after the game. "They executed our plans just right." He admitted the batting let them down big time. Chasing 161, Oman crumbled to 67 all out in just 16.4 overs. Only Hammad Mirza (27), Aamir Kaleem (13), and Shakeel Ahmed managed double-digit scores.
Jatinder pointed out the nerves got to his batters, who struggled to rotate the strike and play freely. "We didn’t back ourselves enough and got tense facing their bowlers," he noted. "But our team is way better than this performance. Let’s play positive cricket and not worry about who’s bowling."
Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Sufiyan Muqeem with impressive figures of two for seven, dominated the chase and sealed a one-sided win in the Asia Cup 2025 clash.
Brief Scores: Pakistan 160/7 in 20 overs (Mohammad Haris 66, Sahibzada Farhan 29; Aamir Kaleem 3/31) beat Oman 67 all out in 16.4 overs (Hammad Mirza 27, Aamir Kaleem 13; Sufiyan Muqeem 2/7) by 93 runs.
