Jannik Sinner secured a dominant win over Alexander Zverev in the Paris Masters semifinals, clearing his way to his first Masters 1000 final.
The Italian got straight‑sets 6‑0, 6‑1, smashing Zverev, who had only won the title in Paris last year. Sinner fired 23 winners and committed just 12 errors, giving him a 5‑4 edge in their career head‑to‑head.
Zverev showed his grit, surviving two match points to beat Daniil Medvedev in the earlier round. Yet his knees and stamina were tested, and he struggled to keep up with Sinner’s pace on the indoor hard‑court surface.
With this victory, Sinner’s indoor victories now total 25 matches—a major run for the 24‑year‑old. He is just 100 ATP points shy of Carlos Alcaraz and would climb back to World No. 1 if he wins the final on Sunday.
Opposite Sinner in the final is Canadian Felix Auger‑Aliassime. Auger‑Aliassime won his semifinal 7‑6(3), 6‑4 against Alexander Bublik on Centre Court. The two players share a 2‑2 record; Sinner captured their last two encounters in Cincinnati and the US Open.
Sinner told reporters, “He’s playing incredible tennis right now. Felix has found his game again in the past months. It’s a great occasion for both of us.” He added, “I’m very happy for Felix; he’s one of the nicest guys on tour. It’s going to be a tough match.”
This marks Sinner’s ninth final out of 11 tournaments played this year, including wins at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He is now tied with Alcaraz for the most top‑10 wins in 2025, both standing at 13.
The final showdown in Paris promises high‑level tennis and the chance for Sinner to reclaim the top spot in the rankings.
