Bengaluru Torpedoes are on a hot streak in the RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League (PVL). The team capped a three‑match winning run with a tight 13‑15, 17‑15, 15‑9, 15‑12 victory over Kochi Blue Spikers at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
The match showed the Torpedoes’ trademark resilience. After losing the first set, captain and setter Matt West was named Player of the Match. He guided the team back in the second set, and then Joel Benjamin, Jalen Penrose and Nitin Minhas helped finish the win. A standout block from Minhas and a serve from Sethu TR added extra firepower.
“Winning three in a row has boosted our confidence,” West said before the next game. “We’ll stay focused on good serves, solid defense, and keeping calm. With that, we can carry this momentum forward.”
Tomorrow evening, the Torpedoes will clash with Chennai Blitz, a team that also started the season with mixed results. Chennai went a five‑set way to beat Goa Guardians, led by Jerome Vinith, but dropped a straight‑sets loss to Kolkata Thunderbolts. Chennai will look to regain their rhythm before the match against Bengaluru.
Both sides will bring aggressive offense and strong teamwork to the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Fans can expect a thrilling encounter as the Torpedoes try to extend their winning streak and the Blitz aim to climb the standings.
