Hyderabad, Oct 13 – Bengaluru Torpedoes won a hard‑fought match against Chennai Blitz, 17‑15, 14‑16, 17‑15, 16‑14, to keep their winning streak alive in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL). The game took place at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Monday night, and Joel Benjamin earned the “Player of the Match” award.

The Blitz began the first set with a fast tempo, led by captain Jerome Vinith and the powerful hitter Luiz Felipe Perotto. Their attack quickly rattled the Torpedoes’ defense, but Bengaluru’s combo of Joel Benjamin and Sethu kept the rally going, and they forced an early lead.

When the second set slipped away, Chennai turned the tide. Their setter, Tarun Gowda, played tight passes to the sameer, while Midhunkumar, the libero for the Torpedoes, stayed alert in defense. Even with Chennai pressing hard, the Torpedoes managed to survive the rally.

The third set saw both teams trade kills until a few unforced errors allowed Chennai to close the set 17‑15. The Torpedoes’ middle blockers, Mujeeb and Jishnu, helped to seal the set, but Chennai’s blocker Aditya Rana rallied the Blitz back to a tight 16‑14 win in the final set.

Throughout the match, Coach David Lee turned two crucial reviews in Bengaluru’s favor, keeping the team roughly in the lead when the score hung close. As the night progressed, Penrose stepped up for the Torpedoes, hit his big points at the perfect moments, and gave Bengaluru the edge they needed.

The win confirmed Bengaluru’s place at the top of the PVL table, while Chennai will look to regroup after a spirited comeback. With Joel Benjamin as the standout player and a scoreline of 3‑1, Bengaluru Torpedoes now own an impressive streak in this season’s Prime Volleyball League.
