Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin said he thinks about the shooting ‘everyday,’ mentions Erika in chilling court exchange: lipreader

When Tyler Robinson stepped into the Provo courtroom on Thursday, he carried a surprisingly composed air. He was 22 when he returned in person after spending more than three months behind bars following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
During the hearing, the defendant’s lawyer was able to use a lip‑reading report to reveal that Robinson said, “I think about the shooting “everyday”,” in an off‑mic moment before the judge opened the case. He went on to add, “Every morning… all the time.” The analysis also captured a chilling remark in which he referenced Kirk’s widow, Erika, who has now been left to raise their two young children.
Robinson then spoke about his own state of mind, telling his lawyer that he’s been “smoking a lot … not sleeping at night … it’s driving me mental.” He continued, “Unfortunately, it’s doing my head in. I’m not good for anything,” according to the lip‑reading analysis.
Dressed in a simple blue shirt and an argyle tie, the defendant looked largely unfazed as the judge, Tony Graf, questioned whether to allow reporters in the courtroom and considered whether to release portions of a past phone hearing transcript. Both requests were deferred, and Judge Graf postponed making a final decision to a hearing scheduled for December 29.
Robinson faces serious charges, including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering and a violent offense committed in the presence of a child.
