In Ayodhya, the city famous for its association with Lord Ram, preparations for Deepotsav 2025 are in full swing. Local officials report that the streets are glowing with new lamp‑shaped displays and LED installations, turning the city into a living beacon of light and devotion.
Govt. spokesperson Jayendra Kumar, the Municipal Commissioner, said the theme for this year’s festival is “Ayodhya: The City of Light and Devotion.” “We want the whole city to feel a single sense of illumination for the name of Ram,” he explained. The theme is echoed across Rampath, Dharampath, Janmabhoomi Path, Hanumangarhi Marg, and roads along the Saryu River. By day the decorations look elegant, and by night they sparkle like garlands, creating a radiant wedding‑dress for the city.
Head of the Municipal Corporation and the Tourism and Culture Departments are adding final touches, aiming to set a new world record each year. They say the glowing lights at the city gates, Ram Ki Paidi, and other entry points give visitors and residents a sense of pride and joy. The city’s festive atmosphere is described as “celestial brilliance” that turns the area into a symbol of faith, culture, and development.
The Yogi government’s push to beautify Ayodhya with large‑scale lighting projects has positioned Deepotsav as more than a celebration; it’s a living testament to the city’s historical and spiritual heritage. Even before the festival starts, the glow across Ramnagari offers a preview of the spectacular display to come.
Last year, more than 2.5 million oil lamps were lit, and the new 2025 decorations will push the tradition higher than ever.
