Sachin Chandwade, a popular actor in Marathi cinema and the star of the hit Hindi‑language streaming series Jamtara 2, died by suicide on October 24, 2024, at just 25 years old. The news shocked fans across Maharashtra and Mumbai, where his work had earned him a growing reputation.
Family members discovered the actor hanging in his home in Parola, Jalgaon, on October 23. They rushed him to a private hospital in his hometown of Undirkhede. Despite emergency treatment, he was transferred to a Dhule hospital, but doctors could not save him. He passed away around 1:30 a.m. the next day.
Born and raised in Jalgaon district, Chandwade balanced a day job as a software engineer at a Pune IT park with his acting ambitions. He was known for his dedication, having started performing in community theatre during his school years. His latest project, the Marathi film Asurvan, features co‑stars Pooja Moily and Anuj Thakare and is slated for release later this year.
The actor’s family has not released an official statement yet. Friends and colleagues online mourned his unexpected loss, praising his talent and passion for drama. Fans share tear‑filled comments, recalling his bright presence on screen and his humble, hardworking nature.

Shah’s funeral, held on Sunday at Vile Parle West’s Pawan Hans crematorium, drew an outpouring of support from actors like Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, and Ratna Pathak Shah. His close friends, including Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak, and others—ranging from filmmaker Ashoke Pandit to comedian David Dhawan—attended to pay final respects.
