Sword fighting experts from Vietnam were brought to train stunt artistes for climax of Nikhil Siddhartha’s ‘Swayambhu’: Sources

Chennai: Reporters say that to perfect the final set of action scenes, the team brought in Vietnamese sword‑fighting specialists who trained the stunt crew for Bharat Krishnamachari’s new period adventure, “Swayambhu.” The film stars Nikhil Siddhartha, Samyuktha, and Nabha Natesh in leading roles.

Nikhil Siddhartha, a rising star, had already traveled to Vietnam for his own martial‑arts preparation before the project began. His intensive training with blades made him capable of handling a sword in either hand with ease.

According to sources who spoke to LatestNewsX, the sword‑fighting instruction wasn’t limited to Siddhartha. Even the supporting actors received lessons from the experts.

One insider reported: “A squad of Vietnamese sword masters was flown in to coach the stunt artistes here. Hundreds of performers were involved in the huge climax sequence, which was shot over 60 days at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.”

Produced by Bhuvan and Sreekar for Pixel Studios and presented by Tagore Madhu, “Swayambhu” is now regarded as Siddhartha’s most prominent project so far.

The cast and crew celebrated the official wrap‑up of filming earlier this week. After a two‑year production cycle that included 170 days on set, the team announced that the movie’s shooting phase had finished.

Promising to be a sweeping celebration of India’s storied past, the film is slated for a global release on February 13 of next year, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri.

In a video titled ‘Rise Of Swayambhu,’ Siddhartha described the shoot as both demanding and thrilling. He shared behind‑the‑scenes footage that highlights the film’s ambitious world‑building and large‑scale production.

Rooted in Indian heritage, “Swayambhu” explores lesser‑known episodes from history, moving beyond conventional depictions of royalty and battles. The core narrative centers on a legendary warrior whose courage shaped an entire era.

The video also introduced Siddhartha’s horse, Maruthi, and paid tribute to the technical crew that brought this epic to life. The actor underwent a complete physical makeover and rigorous training to fully embody the character, even recording his own voice for the Hindi version to enhance authenticity.

Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh headline the female cast. Visual storytelling is entrusted to cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar, while celebrated composer Ravi Basrur scores the film. Production design is led by M. Prabhaharan and Raveendra, who meticulously crafted the film’s grand visual atmosphere.
