Actress‑Politician Kangana Ranaut Completes 12‑Jyotirlinga Pilgrimage After a Decade‑Long Journey
Mumbai – December 28, 2023 (IANS) – Actress‑politician Kangana Ranaut celebrated the completion of a long‑standing spiritual quest when she finished visiting all 12 Jyotirlingas, with the Bheema Shankar shrine in Karnataka marking her final stop.
In a series of Instagram posts, Ranaut shared photos of herself in traditional garments, pouring milk over a Shivling and performing puja. “By the grace of Mahadev and my ancestors punya karma today I completed all 12 jyotirlinga, Last being Bheema Shankar, it was a journey of more than a decade, initially it was happening all by travel coincidences,” she wrote.
She added that she had consciously decided to finish the pilgrimage: “But recently I made it a conscious choice and decided to complete the all 12 Darshans, last being Bheema Shankar for me, is the only Jyotirling that has Shiv and Shakti both consecrated in the same linga as Ardhnatishwara, it’s covered for the most part of the day under a silver cast very little opening of hardly 10 mins to see the ancient linga underneath, I managed to make it for that as well, Har Har Mahadev.”
Ranaut, who first drew national attention as the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress, has kept the religious visits in her personal diary for over ten years. Earlier in her post, she reflected on a recent visit to the Girishneshwar Jyotirlinga: “Today I visited Girishneshwar Jyotirlinga. There are many Jyotirlingas that I have visited 2-4 times, but it is the only one in Maharashtra, my home, that I had the good fortune to have darshan of Baba Girishneshwar now. There is no doubt that you can only go for darshan when Mahadev calls. HAR HAR MAHADEV” (sic).
The journey had previously taken her to the Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga in Deoghar and the Vasuki Dham, which counted as her ninth darshan in the series of visits.
Ranaut’s completion of the pilgrimage is a testament to her personal devotion and the enduring importance of faith in her life, marking the end of a decade‑long spiritual odyssey.
