Jyotiraditya reviews projects in MP’s Guna on death anniversary of Madhavrao Scindia

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia jumped on a virtual call from New Delhi Tuesday to check in on development projects across his Guna Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh. He wants to keep things moving in Guna and nearby areas like Gwalior and Shivpuri.
District collectors, officials from various departments, BJP MLAs from Shivpuri and Guna districts, and State Energy Minister Praduman Singh Tomar joined the meeting. Scindia has made these check-ins a habit lately, whether he’s in his home base of Gwalior or dialing in remotely.
This time, the focus was on fixing traffic jams and widening key roads in Guna and Gwalior. Scindia told the district team to push ahead and finish all ongoing projects—like those city road expansions—right on schedule. He also urged MLAs and local BJP workers to head out to remote villages, making sure folks there tap into government schemes for real benefits.
“Shivpuri is taking a new shape and developing gradually,” Scindia said in a statement. “The result should be visible on the ground. Widening of roads will not only make smooth traffic, but it will also make the city beautiful that will attract tourists.”
Scindia stepped into politics after his father, Madhavrao Scindia—a senior Congress leader and former Union Minister—died in a plane crash on September 30, 2001. He won the Guna seat back then and built strong ties with locals in this BJP stronghold. But he hit a rough patch, losing the 2019 Lok Sabha election. In March 2020, he switched from Congress to BJP, shaking up Madhya Pradesh politics.
Marking the anniversary of his father’s death, Scindia shared a simple photo of them on X (formerly Twitter) without any words.
Looking ahead, Scindia heads to Gwalior on Wednesday. He’ll meet people at his family home, Jai Vilas Palace, to connect face-to-face.
