Director Atlee celebrated his 39th birthday on Sunday, and his wife Priya made it extra special with a heartfelt social media tribute. In an Instagram post, Priya called him her “heart, peace, strength, and everything,” sharing how lucky she feels to have him as her husband and the father of their son, Meer.
She set the mood with the “Like a Baby” song playing in the background and posted a cute video montage of Atlee’s tender moments with their little boy. “You’ve given me a life full of love, laughter, and our precious little boy,” Priya wrote. “Watching you be the amazing father and husband you are fills my heart in ways I can’t even explain. Meer and I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday Atlee—wishing you only happiness always. God bless!” She added plenty of heart, cake, and kiss emojis for good measure.
The love didn’t stop there. Tollywood star Allu Arjun, known for his hit “Pushpa,” also sent warm birthday wishes to Atlee. He shared a throwback photo of the two on his Instagram Stories, captioning it: “Happy Birthday to my dearest director @atlee47 garu. May abundance shower upon you. Wishing you all the joy, love, and prosperity. Can’t wait for everyone to experience the cinematic magic you’re creating.”
Atlee and Priya tied the knot on November 9, 2014, and welcomed their son Meer on January 13, 2023. The director kicked off his career as an assistant to legendary filmmaker S. Shankar before stepping into the spotlight with his 2013 debut “Raja Rani.”
He’s gained massive fame for his blockbuster collaborations with actor Vijay, including action-packed hits like “Theri,” “Mersal,” and “Bigil.” Atlee’s big Bollywood breakthrough came in 2023 with “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan. The high-octane drama smashed box office records worldwide, ranking among the highest-grossing Indian films ever.
