Irfan Pathan, Debasish Mohanty announced as brand ambassadors of Odisha Pro T20 League

Odisha Pro T20 League Kicks Off with Big Names and Exciting Plans

Cricket fans in Odisha are in for a treat! The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has just unveiled its brand new Odisha Pro T20 League, and they’ve roped in two cricket legends as brand ambassadors to make it even more special. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan and Odisha’s own pace pioneer Debashish Mohanty will represent the league, bringing star power and local pride to inspire young players across the state.

Irfan Pathan, known for his fiery fast bowling and key role in India’s international wins, shares strong ties with the region. Teaming up with him is Debashish Mohanty, who broke barriers as one of Odisha’s first cricketers to shine on the national stage. Adding to the excitement, ex-international player and BCCI match referee Sanjay Raul will oversee all matches to keep things fair and professional.

The league starts tomorrow, September 17, and runs until September 26 at the iconic Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. It’s a fast-paced single-leg format with 18 thrilling matches—two almost every day. You can catch all the live action on Star Sports Khel or stream it on FanCode at 2 pm and 7 pm IST, with commentary in Hindi and English. On the final day, the Odisha Women’s Cricket Team will play an exhibition match to wrap things up on a high note.

The grand launch happens today at 5 pm, right before the first game. Expect a star-studded show at Barabati Stadium, featuring singer Ruturaj Mohanty, energetic Sambalpuri folk dances, acrobatic Malkhamb performances, a live set by popular singer Nakash Aziz, and a dance by actress Chitragandha Singh. The highlight? Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other VIPs will unveil the trophy, setting the stage for the opener between Bhubaneswar Tigers and Cuttack Panthers.

Six dynamic teams will battle it out: Cuttack Panthers, Bhubaneswar Tigers, Rourkela Steelers, Puri Titans, Sambalpur Warriors, and Keonjhar Miners. This league isn’t just about big hits—it’s designed to spotlight local talent, build a pro cricket scene in Odisha, and get communities buzzing with excitement.

And the rewards? The winners take home Rs 50 lakh, while runners-up get Rs 25 lakh. Each match’s star player earns Rs 10,000, the overall player of the series bags Rs 1 lakh, and the top batsman and bowler each pocket Rs 50,000. It’s a great boost for emerging cricketers!

All this buzz came out at a lively press meet today at the OCA office in Barabati Stadium. OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera shared the details, joined by Treasurer Bikash Pradhan, CEO Subrat Kumar Behera, and Arivaa Sports’ Head of Operations Salman Khan.

If you’re a cricket lover searching for Odisha Pro T20 League schedule, live streaming, teams, or prize money, this inaugural season promises non-stop action. Mark your calendars—Odisha cricket is about to level up!
