Dubai: Rohit Sharma has once again taken the top spot in the ODI batting rankings, while Sikandar Raza has reached the No.1 position in the T20I all‑rounders list for the first time ever, a testament to his strong performances reflected in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
Raza has been pivotal for Zimbabwe in the current tri‑series against Sri Lanka and hosts Pakistan. In the Saturday clash with Sri Lanka, he delivered a brisk 37 runs and bowled four tight overs, helping his side to a nine‑wicket win and pushing him past Pakistan’s Saim Ayub. At 39, this marks the first time Raza has topped the T20I all‑rounders chart in his 13‑year international career.
Since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Raza has consistently stayed within the top ten of the T20I all‑rounders rankings. His recent form also saw him finish as the No.1 ODI all‑rounder in September, and he now holds the second spot in the longer white‑ball format.
The ranking shuffle saw Ayub slip to second in the T20I all‑rounders list, with Mohammad Nawaz climbing to seventh thanks to his solid play in the tri‑series. Among Pakistani batters, Sahibzada Farhan leapt eight spots to claim fourth place, and former captain Babar Azam moved up five positions to sit at 29 after scoring a recent half‑century.
All three white‑ball formats experienced shifts in their top ten this week, including a noteworthy change at the ODI apex. India veteran Rohit Sharma reclaimed the top spot, nudging New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell down. Mitchell had missed the final two fixtures of the Black Caps’ ODI sweep over the West Indies, causing a drop in his rating. The New Zealand side also saw Rachin Ravindra slip one place to 12th and Devon Conway climb 11 places to 31st. In the T20I arena, West Indies captain Shai Hope moved up two positions to eighth, thanks to an unbeaten century in the second match against New Zealand.
The Black Caps improved their positions in the ODI bowlers list, with Mitchell Santner ascending one place to sixth and Matt Henry sharing the 10th spot after their 3‑0 series victory. Turning to Tests, several Australian players advanced following their commanding win over England at Perth. In the fourth innings, Travis Head’s match‑winning spell vaulted him up four places to sixth in the Test batting rankings. England’s Ollie Pope also made gains, climbing four spots to 24th. Meanwhile, Bangladesh players saw progress after a 217‑run win over Ireland at Mirpur: Mushfiqur Rahim moved up seven places to 30th, Litton Das climbed eight spots to 37th, and Mominul Haque joined him at 46th after an eight‑place rise.
Australia’s fast bowler Mitchell Starc advanced four slots to fifth in the Test bowling rankings, achieving a career‑high rating following his Player of the Match performance against England. For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam leapt four places to 15th, marking the biggest jump of his career. In the Test all‑rounders table, Ben Stokes slipped one place to second behind India’s Ravindra Jadeja, while Starc’s four‑spot improvement sent him to fifth.
