In Jaipur on Sunday, the Sapta Shakti Command of the Indian Army hosted an “Honour Run” to pay tribute to veterans and current soldiers. The event celebrated bravery, resilience, and national pride, drawing enthusiastic runners from across the city—including service members, NCC cadets, professional athletes, para‑athletes, and families.
Runners started at the famous Albert Hall Museum and followed the lively stretch of JLN Marg on a crisp winter morning. Participants spanned many categories, with 5‑km and 10‑km races inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, while a 21‑km marathon began under the watchful eye of Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, the GOC‑in‑Chief of Sapta Shakti Command, alongside other dignitaries. Their presence energized the crowd and underscored the importance of honoring our veterans.
Lt‑Gen Singh urged the runners to see each stride as a nod to the soldiers who protect our borders, while the Chief Minister reminded everyone that the run is more than a casual jog—it’s a living tribute to patriotism and the sacrifices made from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The event offered 21‑km, 10‑km, and 5‑km timed races, with a total prize pool of ₹22.7 lakh, encouraging fitness and rewarding outstanding performances.
Prior to the main races, a promotional run, a curtain‑raiser, and a BIB Expo had already stoked excitement in the city. Watching para‑athletes and veterans compete side‑by‑side highlighted the enduring human spirit and resolve. The day ended with jubilant celebrations, reflecting the unity, pride, and respect Jaipur residents hold for the Armed Forces.
Looking ahead to the 2026 Army Day Parade in Jaipur, the Honour Run not only commemorated the soldiers’ sacrifices but also inspired citizens to adopt values of courage, discipline, service, and resilience.
