Letter warns of bomb threat, Delhi High Court proceedings distrupted: Sources

Delhi High Court Faces Bomb Threat Scare: Evacuation Chaos After Email Warning

An anonymous email claiming a bomb threat at the Delhi High Court sent shockwaves through the national capital on Friday, September 12. Delhi Police sources confirmed the alert, which mentioned three bombs planted in the judge’s room and court premises. The email, sent to court staff, had a chilling subject line: "Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts. 3 bombs planted in judge room/court premises. Evacuate by 2pm."

The sender used the email ID kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com and made wild claims about Pakistan’s involvement. It even warned that "assets within the Police have been sown since 2017" and that a blast at the Delhi High Court would prove past threats weren’t bluffs. The message added fuel to the fire by saying the judge’s chamber would explode right after Mid-Day Islamic Prayers on this "Holy Friday."

Panic hit hard as soon as the email surfaced. All court benches shut down immediately, and lawyers, litigants, and staff rushed out of the Delhi High Court building. The scene turned chaotic with people scrambling to safety, halting all proceedings and creating a major security scare in the heart of New Delhi.

This isn’t the first time such threats have rattled the city. Just days earlier, on September 9, the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat got similar bomb threat emails. Delhi Police jumped into action, sending bomb squads to check both spots. The email to MAMC’s dean didn’t specify a blast time, but authorities treated it seriously—no explosives turned up, thankfully.

Rewind to August 28, and around 20 Delhi colleges, including Jesus and Mary College in Chanakyapuri, received hoax bomb threat emails. Police investigations called them fake, with suspicions pointing to the sender using a VPN to hide their tracks.

As Delhi Police digs deeper into this latest Delhi High Court bomb threat, they’re urging calm while boosting security. These repeated hoax alerts have authorities on high alert, but so far, no real danger has emerged. Stay tuned for updates as the investigation unfolds.
