Delhi Police rescue 7-year-old boy in swift operation, arrest 4 kidnappers

Delhi Police pulled off a quick and daring rescue, saving a 7-year-old boy kidnapped from New Delhi and whisked away to Haryana. The dramatic operation wrapped up just days after the child’s mother reported him missing, highlighting the force’s sharp skills in tackling child abduction cases.

The trouble started when the boy didn’t come home from school on September 27. His mother rushed to Vikaspuri Police Station the next day with her suspicions. She pointed the finger at Ajay Verma, her 24-year-old ex-partner from a live-in relationship. Verma, a mobile repair technician in Hansi, Haryana, had turned obsessive after their breakup, thanks to his abusive and jealous ways. He snatched the boy to blackmail her into coming back, even sending scary threats about hurting the child if she didn’t give in.

Police didn’t waste a second. Under the watch of Assistant Commissioner Garima Tiwari, a team led by Inspector Deepak Dahiya and SHO Rajveer Singh jumped into action. They filed an FIR (No. 349/25 under sections 137(2)/140 BNS) and scoured CCTV footage near the school. The video caught two men grabbing the boy on a motorcycle. Verma kept dodging them by shutting off his phone, but the cops used smart surveillance tools and social media tracking to stay on his trail.

The big break came when they zeroed in on Verma’s buddy, a 20-year-old sweeper named Ajay from Vikaspuri in Delhi. Verma had messaged him on Instagram to score a pistol. Once they grilled Ajay, the leads pointed straight to a farmhouse in Hansi, Haryana, where Verma was holed up with the boy and two other guys. A police sub-team, already staking out the area for three days, raided the spot and freed the child without a scratch. They nabbed Verma and his two associates right there.

Back in Delhi, cops arrested Ajay too, and found a homemade pistol at his place. That sparked a fresh case under the Arms Act. All four suspects are now in custody: Verma, the ringleader with no prior record; Amit, an 18-year-old tent worker from Hisar who hid them out; Sachin, a 20-year-old factory worker with a past Arms Act charge who also gave them shelter; and the Delhi-based Ajay who ferried the kidnappers on his bike.

This fast-paced probe across Delhi and Haryana wrapped up the kidnapping ring in record time. It not only brought the boy home safe but also seized an illegal weapon, boosting trust in the police and warning off would-be criminals in the region.
