Powerball jackpot swells to enormous $1B prize, after no winnerless drawing Wednesday night

The Powerball jackpot has shot up to a staggering $1 billion after a $930 million draw went unclaimed last Wednesday, extending the streak of no winners to 41 drawings.
The winning combination was 10, 16, 29, 33, 69 with the Powerball number 22.
Saturday’s highly‑anticipated draw will feature the game’s seventh‑largest prize, only behind the $1.08 billion jackpot won on July 19, 2023, in downtown Los Angeles.

Powerball hasn’t seen a winner since two players in Missouri and Texas shared a $1.787 billion prize on September 6, marking the second‑largest lottery award ever.
Both winners, who opted for the cash payout, each walked away with about $410.3 million.

Three other players—one each from Maryland, Michigan, and New Jersey—secured $1 million apiece by matching all five white balls.
The life‑changing jackpot has steadily risen over the past nearly three months, with no one yet catching the roll after the September win.

If a lucky ticket holder manages to hit the jackpot, they can choose between a lump‑sum payment of roughly $461.3 million or an annuity plan.
The annuity option starts with an immediate payout, followed by 29 yearly installments that increase by 5% annually.
All prize options are presented before taxes.
