Owe my political birth to Tamil soil, not to any party: NTK leader Seeman

On Saturday, a party meeting was held in Thiruverkkadu, a suburb of Chennai, where Naam Tamilar Katchi’s chief coordinator, Se Seeman, took a firm stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party. He countered rumors that the BJP had paved his way into politics, insisting that his roots run deep in Tamil soil and that no national outfit has ever “birthed” him.

Speaking to the NTK’s General Council, Se Seeman dismissed the BJP‑linked narrative as politically motivated. “When I was born, did Thirumavalavan or anyone else stand by me?” he asked, echoing past accusations from leaders such as Dalit MP Thol Thirumavalavan that the BJP had quietly supported him.

The gathering adopted 26 resolutions, among them a call to append “Tamil Nadu” to the names of all State Transport Corporations, a push for a province‑wide prohibition, and a demand that the NEET examination be exempted for residents. Se Seeman said these demands reflected genuine public sentiment rather than opportunistic politics.

Before the public session, he told reporters that the NTK was created not merely to collect grievances but to address them. “We aren’t just here to talk endlessly,” he remarked. “We’re here to act and deliver solutions.” He criticized both the ruling party and the opposition for making empty electoral promises while failing to address core issues when in power, urging observers to consider what their leaders actually did over the last decade.

Se Seeman reiterated the party’s objective of contesting every one of Tamil Nadu’s 234 assembly seats, aiming to establish a governance model built on justice and self‑respect. He also questioned welfare schemes that focus on the free distribution of consumer goods, arguing that real progress lies in creating sustainable employment and honoring labor. In one example, he asked, “If we set aside ₹950 crore for women’s welfare, how much would it cost to make nurses, cleaners, and teachers permanent employees? Real empowerment is there.”

When pressed about claims that he is a BJP or RSS affiliate, Se Seeman dismissed the labels as attempts to undermine him. “No one funds us. We run this movement with the support of ordinary people, not corporate or party money,” he insisted.

He capped his speech by re‑affirming NTK’s commitment to building a governance framework that celebrates Tamil identity, dignity, and self‑reliance.
