In a Truth Social post early that morning he wrote, “To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY.” He finished the message with, “Thank you for your attention to this matter!” The move comes just two days after the president said he would intensify efforts to stop suspected drug traffickers entering the United States from Venezuela by land. He has also previously pursued a maritime strategy against the nation.
