Chatting with after her act, Yasmin shared why Raag Megh means so much in Kathak dance. “In this style, we show the clouds spreading in the rainy season, the roar of thunder and lightning, and the sound of ghungroos like falling rain,” she said with a smile. “Performing at Bharat Bhavan is every artist’s dream. The Madhya Pradesh government’s Culture Department keeps pushing art and literature forward—it’s amazing for all of us in the creative world. Bhopal’s rich history and natural beauty inspire me; I do my Kathak practice right here.”
Yasmin also praised the festival’s role in keeping classical traditions alive. The Badal Raga Samaroh is an annual highlight at Bharat Bhavan, blending Indian classical music and dance to honor the monsoon. This year’s edition ran from September 10 to 13, showcasing top talents like Yasmin and reminding everyone why these arts stay timeless.
