Vice‑President C.P. Radhakrishnan flew into Telangana on Sunday for a special visit to attend the Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025 at Film City. The event marked his first trip to the state, and he was greeted with a warm welcome at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy and other dignitaries. As he entered the building, the Vice‑President received a guard of honour – a proud moment that drew cheers from the crowd.
Later that day in New Delhi, the Vice‑President stepped onto the stage of a media awards ceremony. He noted that cinema and politics live in very different worlds, but both are unpredictable. While handing an award to Union Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum Suresh Gopi, he praised the minister’s steady performance across sectors. He also highlighted the media’s essential job of shining a light on the country’s progress and inspiring optimism among young people. “Journalism gives a voice to the voiceless,” he said, adding the press plays a key role in building a drug‑free society by raising awareness and shaping responsible public opinion.
On the same day, the Vice‑President spoke at the audit day celebrations, serving as chief guest for the Audit Diwas 2025. He applauded the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, calling the institution the “guardian of the public purse.” The Vice‑President underlined the importance of accountability, transparency and integrity for preserving India’s moral capital. He praised the CAG’s recent reform that introduced a “One Nation, One Set of Object Heads of Expenditure” for the Union and state governments, citing it as a big step toward clearer and more comparable financial reporting.
