Free Medical Camp Kicks Off PM Modi’s Birthday Celebrations in Chennai
In a heartwarming move, a private medical college and hospital in Aminjikarai, Chennai, set up a free medical camp on Saturday to mark the upcoming 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran kicked things off by inaugurating the event, promising a full two weeks of community service across the state.
Talking to reporters, Nagendran shared the excitement: "We’re celebrating PM Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17 with special events all over Tamil Nadu. The BJP is stepping up with welfare programs like these medical camps and food distribution drives to really help people out. From today right up to October 8, we’re calling it ‘Sevai Vaaram’ or service week, focusing on supporting the community in every way we can."
Nagendran didn’t shy away from politics either. He dismissed rumors of cracks in the NDA alliance, saying, "Sure, not every party agrees on everything—alliances form for elections, after all. With eight months to go, plenty can change. We’re solid."
He took a dig at the opposition INDIA bloc too, pointing out their unfulfilled promises. "They haven’t delivered much for the people. Look at this recent circular from Chief Secretary Muruganandam on September 19—it told government employees no leaves, but protests are erupting right at the Secretariat with teachers, sanitation workers, and cleaners demanding better. That’s a clear sign of their admin failures."
For Nagendran, it’s all about action over words. "Building alliances is key, but doing real good for Tamil Nadu’s people matters just as much," he added.
On breaking the DMK’s grip, he was optimistic. "DMK strongholds are tough, but we’re not just attacking them—we’re shaking up their alliances. Remember 2001? Even with Karunanidhi’s mega alliance, DMK didn’t win. This time, regime change is coming. Our NDA alliance will take the win, no doubt."
Nagendran also updated on internal AIADMK matters, mentioning a recent call with O. Panneerselvam. "The differences between him and leader Edappadi Palaniswami? We’ll sort them out through talks. Eight months is plenty of time for a strong resolution before the elections."
Looking ahead, he stressed the big picture: "Our shared goal is clear—a regime change in Tamil Nadu this election cycle. And in Parliament, we’re aiming for more seats to keep pushing forward."
