Rahul Gandhi raising voice to defend democracy: Pappu Yadav after LoP’s fresh allegations against ECI

Pappu Yadav, the MP from Purnia, has thrown his full support behind Rahul Gandhi’s sharp criticism of the Election Commission of India (ECI). On Friday, Yadav praised the Congress leader for standing up for the Constitution, democracy, and the voting rights of ordinary people.
In an interview, Yadav explained, “Rahul Gandhi is speaking out for everyday Indians to safeguard the Constitution, secure their voting rights, and protect democracy. He’s exposed how the ECI is enabling voter suppression in sneaky ways.” He pointed to a shocking example: “In one assembly segment alone, more than 6,000 names got deleted from the voter list. This isn’t just about Rahul Gandhi—Congress rules Karnataka, yet the real problem is the ECI’s pattern of tampering with voters. The CID keeps demanding proof from them, but they stay quiet.”
Yadav didn’t hold back in slamming the ECI, calling their actions “anti-Constitution, anti-Dalit, anti-OBC, anti-minority, and straight-up anti-national.” He added, “This has nothing to do with being pro-BJP or pro-RSS. Forces like this shouldn’t stay in power for even a second.”
Shifting gears, Yadav addressed why Congress skipped RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’. He defended the move, saying, “Congress has its own game plan with five key guarantees. Under Rahul Gandhi, we kicked off the ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ that got regular folks marching on the streets. Every party pushes its manifesto—we don’t need to drag Tejashwi to our CWC meetings.”
Yadav also fired shots at spiritual leader Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, who earlier urged playing the national anthem weekly in temples, churches, mosques, and shrines. Shastri had said in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, “Rashtra and Ram must go hand in hand. Every Indian owes it to the nation to show patriotism. Singing the national anthem in all places of worship once a week will keep us united and patriotism burning in our hearts.”
But Yadav dismissed him outright: “Guys like Dhirendra are all marketing hype with zero clue about spirituality, Sanatan Dharma, science, or Indian culture. No one takes him seriously. These anti-national types should head to Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Nepal—instead, let’s protect democracy and keep Sanatan Dharma thriving here.”
