The title poster for the new Malayalam movie Rajakumari was dropped on actor Manju Warrier’s official page on Wednesday, sparking buzz across social media. The picture shows a woman in a glamorous look, signalling that the film has a star‑powered start and a strong message.
Rajakumari is the first film directed by Unnidas Koodathil – who also wrote the script. The project comes from Nalla Cinema Productions and is backed by Faras Muhammed, Fahad Siddiq and Fayaz Muhammed, with Ashna Rasheed as executive producer.
The story follows Janaki, a young bride who moves into a new home full of hope, only to discover the harsh reality of traditional expectations that can crush a woman’s dreams. The plot is inspired by a real‑life tragedy that shook Kerala: the death of Uthra, a young mother from Anchal in Kollam district who was killed in a snakebite that turned out to be a murder planned by her husband. The case sparked national outrage and forced many families to confront the hidden scars of domestic violence and abuse.
Actors Athmeeya (known from Joseph) and newcomer Fahad Siddiq play the leads. The supporting cast includes Sreejith Ravi, Senthil Krishna, Kudassanad Kanakam, Veena Nair, Rajesh Kannur and Rithu Manthra. The film blends thriller elements with emotional depth, aiming to keep audiences on edge while delivering a powerful social message.
Music comes from Denson Dominic with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. Visuals are shaped by art director Anees Nadodi, makeup artist Rony Vellathuvayal, and costume designer Arun Manohar. Production is wrapping up under the guidance of finance controller Vijayan Unni, production executive Praveen Edavannappara, and controller Binu Manampur.
