Rahul Gandhi is a person without common sense, faced ridicule in the past 4–5 years: Karnataka BJP on ‘vote theft’ charges

BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Voter Fraud Claims in Karnataka

In a sharp rebuttal to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s accusations of ‘vote chori’ against the Union government, Karnataka BJP leaders have called him out for lacking common sense. They say he’s become the butt of jokes across the country over the last few years.

Leader of the Opposition (LoP) R. Ashoka fired back while speaking to reporters at the Ramada Resort in Bengaluru’s Singanayakanahalli. Rahul Gandhi had alleged that over 6,000 voters’ names were deleted in the 2023 Aland Assembly elections in Karnataka, hinting at foul play. But Ashoka dismissed it outright, saying, "Rahul Gandhi just repeats whatever someone writes for him. He’s the most ridiculed politician in India right now."

Ashoka pointed to a recent flop in Rahul’s claims about voter fraud in Bengaluru’s Mahadevapura Assembly constituency. "He promised to expose big truths, but it turned out to be fake news. Rahul said hundreds of votes came from one house, but there were just four—and they were all legitimate," Ashoka explained. This Mahadevapura voter fraud controversy, he added, shows how empty these allegations often are.

Shifting to the Aland Assembly elections, Ashoka highlighted a real case closer to home. "Forget distant Aland—right near Bengaluru, in Malur Assembly seat, genuine voter fraud happened. The court ruled on it, but the Deputy Commissioner ignored orders for CCTV footage. The Congress MLA who won there even lost his seat. Isn’t that proof enough?" He questioned why Rahul Gandhi stays silent on such issues.

Ashoka also criticized Rahul for dodging the Election Commission’s requests. "The EC asked him to file an affidavit on his voter fraud charges, but he never did. Meanwhile, our BJP candidate in Malur submitted one and took it to the High Court. The court slammed the District Commissioner for wrongdoing and ordered action. Does Rahul even know about this Karnataka election controversy?"

Even as the Election Commission rejected all claims of voter fraud, Congress leaders keep stirring the pot, Ashoka said. "They won’t discuss it in Parliament with solid documents. Every time someone asks for proof, they vanish. Now they’re targeting the EC again. What’s their game?"

BJP MLC C.T. Ravi joined the attack, urging Rahul to step up. "If Rahul Gandhi has real complaints about voter fraud in Karnataka elections, he should file them with an affidavit to the EC. They’ve asked him multiple times—why hasn’t he?" Ravi accused this of being a blame game to cover Congress failures.

Ravi went further, slamming Rahul’s stance on the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. "Who does he trust if not the EC? It feels like he’s undermining the Constitution to spark chaos and lawlessness. This could make people doubt every election win in the future." He shared a personal example: "In my constituency, I heard votes from deceased people were cast. Should I blame Congress and question their victories? It’s all a conspiracy to create doubt."

These fiery exchanges highlight the ongoing political tussle in Karnataka over election integrity, with BJP pushing back hard against what they call baseless voter fraud allegations.
