Makers of Virat Karrna’s pan-Indian film ‘Nagabandham’ begin filming expensive climax sequence
Hyderabad: The crew behind director Abhishek Nama’s highly awaited pan‑Indian film “Nagabandham,” led by Virat Karrna, Nabha Natesh, and Iswarya Menon, has just started shooting the movie’s climactic set‑piece. The epic finale is taking shape at Ramanaidu Studios and is being billed as one of the most ambitious closing sequences ever attempted in a mythological action drama, with the climax alone costing producers an eye‑watering ₹20 crore.
For Nama, a project he considers a dream, the team is proceeding with meticulous caution to capture every nuance of this high‑stakes moment. A central feature of the finale is a gigantic set conceived by production designer Ashok Kumar, complete with a monumental sacred door that echoes the grandeur of ancient temple architecture. To amplify the scale and add high‑voltage action, the filmmakers have brought in renowned Thai stunt maestro Kecha Khamphakdee.
In addition to the leads, the film boasts a robust ensemble, including seasoned actors Jagapathi Babu, Jayaprakash, Murali Sharma, and B.S. Avinash in key supporting roles. The story dives into the hidden secrets of India’s Vishnu temples, spotlighting the mystical practice of Nagabandham. Inspired by recent treasure discoveries at sites such as Padmanabhaswamy and Puri Jagannath, the narrative explores the captivating mythology surrounding these sacred places and the enigmatic rituals that guard them, presenting these age‑old mysteries through a fresh, contemporary lens.
Soundar Rajan S is on board as cinematographer, while Abhe and Junaid Kumar provide the musical score. Dialogue composition comes from Kalyan Chakravarthy, with editing handled by Santosh Kamireddy. Ashok Kumar also serves as art director, lending his vision to the film’s visual world.
